Friday Focus on Fashion

For the ladies…

Yes, my trend-sensors are going off every time I see a lovely pair of Wellingtons (aka Wellies)! You can either invest in the real thing, The UK Hunter brand Wellingtons for ~$100, or have a look-see at the LL Bean version for $50. The latter do not have the Hunter label, but they are more affordable and received  glowing reviews from customers.

And for men…

Cufflinks!!! Many men have to wear cufflinks for work, and I must say I have a weakness for sprinkling classic fashion with surprising dashes of edgy punk accessories. These cufflinks would do that job effortlessly for only $25.

Friday Focus on Fashion!

For women:

How can you help but fall in love with these breathtaking little permanent origami earrings? They are beautiful, dainty, and feminine, and look light enough for those of us who can only wear very lightweight earrings. They are only $7 a pair, and the seller offers a plethora of colors. Origami brooches are also available.

And, for men:

I am constantly buying cufflinks for male friends! They make such a trusty gift: every guy wears French cuffs at least once in his life whether he likes it or not, and a pair of nice cufflinks are a must. These awesome vintage watch part cufflinks shown above (one of 59 cufflinks designs by the same artist) would make an amazing gift for a special someone. And, as you know (or perhaps you don’t), exposed watch parts are totally in right now. $65.

We had guests at my house on Friday, so I wasn’t able to post our usual Friday “Focus on Fashion”. Never fear! I thought I would post it today instead, despite the fact that it is most definitely not Friday.

I ordered this dress when it finally hit the “sale rack” online and have not been disappointed. It is feminine, modest, gorgeous, and doesn’t have to be dry-cleaned (a fault with so many good quality summer dresses). I just hate to take it off! It is well-worth its weight in gold for sure. This Short-Sleeve Gauze Dress is now only $50.

And, for our gentlemen readers, I am going to try my hand at a more masculine fashion focus as well. I thought this Shotgun Shell Belt Buckle for $23 was a good manly bet. Other calibers are available; just ask the seller!

These Jelly Earrings are absolutely adorably quirky! Green chains dangle from brown lids to reach a total of 3″ long. Only $37 for a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings to wear during the summer.

I definitely think everyone should get in on the robot love trend! This tunic is an awesome way to do it! $25.

Friday Focus on Fashion!!!

A reader sent me a tip via email regarding Christa Taylor’s new clothing company, whose philosophy is based on Christa’s belief that clothing can be fashionable, without being frumpy (I totally agree). I checked it out, and there are adorable pieces in her collections, including this Gallery Skirt pictured above that I want badly. Even better, 5% of the profits go to the orphanage in Ta Lam, Cambodia to support the widows and orphans there.

Christa’s fashion blog on the website is awesome too. Check it out!

Catholic T-Shirt

Here is a link to some beautiful, inspiring Catholic t-shirts with beautiful designs such as the Last Supper, our Mother Mary, and other saints. I have bought several of them myself and suggest you check them out. They cost up to $25.00 but are totally worth it. Show the world you are Catholic by (literally!) wearing you faith on your sleeve.

Too cute! I just love this decoupage bangle bracelet made from the Netherfield Ball scene in Jane Austen’s classic novel, Pride and Prejudice. There are a few bangles, crafted from different parts of the book. Just imagine wearing this on your wrist! It would feel so feminine and sweetly sophisticated, like one of Austen’s heroines. $15 + shipping.
